About Crossfire
Leaders
Crossfire is co-pastored by Rev. Roy Pierce & Rev. Patti Miller.
Together they work with an awesome group of people who bring their passion, gifts and skills to the table.
Our staff and frequently contacted leaders include:
- Adele Routliff & John Hemingway: Leaders of the Deaf Church
- Jacklyn & Andrei Szabo: Youth Leaders
- Karl Fair, Sheila Russell & Mike Catchpole: Recovery Group Leaders
- Magical Mare Catchpole: our amazingly creative children’s leader
- Wendy Bradshaw: coordinates our on-line prayer team – email wbradshaw1949 (at) gmail (dot) com if there is something for which you’d like prayer.
And then, we could not begin to adequately give credit to the volunteers who do their part to make this expression of the Body of Christ work surprisingly well.
Sunday Services
Sunday Morning Service
Time: 10:34 AM
Our Sunday morning services are designed for the individual, for the family, for the visitor, for the ones looking for the large, impacting brushstrokes of the presence of God.
We love our worship!
- sometimes very loud
- and sometimes very quiet
- sometimes using media
- and sometimes with flags and dancing
- but always, we strive for God’s presence
We are intergenerational!
We have young kids, senior citizens and everything in between in our services.
During the message, kids age four to eleven head downstairs with Magical Mare, if they choose, for fun teaching that parallels what the grown-ups are learning. They help make the coffee too!
We are interactive!
Often during the message, the speaker is asking questions of people who are in the congregation, or asking for volunteers to help with an illustration, or people are reading Scriptures. Our multimedia screens are designed to keep us all on the same page.
We are artistic… (well, some of us are)
We encourage people to write or sketch during the sermon time. We are amazed at how the Holy Spirit gives people words and drawings which capture the essence of the message.
We are accessible…
Our Crossfire Deaf Congregation meet in a room off of the sanctuary for their own service at 10:34 every Sunday morning. Elevator access is available for those who struggle with stairs. A children’s play area, toys, and diaper-changing facilities are available downstairs for parents with young children or infants.
Sunday evenings have a variety of formats
Time: 6:30 PM
We’ve experimented with current event discussions … ancient spiritual practices … supper and a story … artistic expressions … Alpha @ Rolly Rocket’s BBQ. Currently … two small groups wrap up on October 23 … then we start them again on November 13. One is led by Pastor Roy – “Life Principles” – and the other is led by Pastor Patti – “Prayer”. Both groups use DVD and discussion. Both are fun and practical. 6:30 to 8 PM All ages welcome.
Beliefs and Affiliation
What We Believe
We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, the only true rule of faith and< conduct. It brings real direction and purpose to life.
We believe there is one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One comes to know Him and experience His salvation through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are convinced that the gospel is the greatest news the world has ever received.
God still heals minds, souls and bodies. He is still baptizing people with the Holy Spirit, equipping them to be witnesses in the real world.
Who Are We Connected With?
We are affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC).
We are in relationship with churches, pastors, leaders, organizations, and a variety of people from many different Christian backgrounds.
We hear regularly from people who say that they love our charismatic style; or they love our Pentecostal style; or they love our evangelical style. The truth is, if you feel a strong desire to label us, we are best labeled by what we do (which, we might add, is an expanding field of opportunities).
