"Expectations: Looking Forward with Anticipation"

This is Pastor Roy's story:

It was about 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, August 25, 1994.  I was in my office on Wilson Street and felt a strong impression from the Holy Spirit to drive down to James Street North, at the bay.  I parked my car and walked over to the fence enclosing the marina grounds.  As I stood there looking over the bay, I was taken into what I would call a vision.

It was as if God poured into my mind the absolute knowledge that:

“millions of dollars will go out of Hamilton into missions around the world, and tens of thousands of people will come to the Lord in Hamilton.”

Needless to say, I was shocked and in awe.  I’d had no warning.  I wondered, “Why me?”

As I stood there, a fear of God overwhelmed me as I sensed the Lord say, “And this will destroy you!”  I went back to my car asking God what I was to do.  If I ignored it, I would be out of God’s will.  If I walked it, it would destroy me.  As I wept and prayed, I sensed God’s peace enter the car, and He said to my spirit, “Don’t touch the glory.”  I knew that was the key to walking this path successfully.

Since then, I have unwaveringly held on to that encounter with God.  I believe it is true.  I believe I am to speak it at various times and I have not hesitated to do so.  I also believe that Crossfire has some part in seeing that vision become a reality.  How extensive our part will be undoubtedly will depend to a great extent on the faith and faithfulness of persons in positions of leadership and influence.
